In the 17´th century Isfahan was one of the most magnificent and richest cities in the world. Rugs from Isfahan are counted among the finest and most expensive rugs knotted in Iran today. The knot density ranges from 600.000 to 1 million knots/sq m. Isfahan rugs is generally made of a very fine wool and silk in the pile, warp is silk and weft is cotton.
